boot pop kit problem

After getting the boot pop coded a week ago i finally got around to installing the parts today.
Got one problem though, the rubber buffers dont appear to be popping out enough ?
If i park on a flat surface it just about pops enough to completelly open the boot, if on slight up facing hill it works great !!!
I watched ecs tunings video on install and the only thing that came to my attention is when he installed the rubber buffers and it stated that you turn the allen key anti clockwise until it stops ! ( mine didnt stop and just turned forever )
then you push the buffer in before turning the allen key clockwise until again it stops ! ( again mine didnt stop just got tighter but would keep turning indefinatelly if i try to ) !!!
so i thought that was it done and it pushes in and out very well, no way of telling if it was at its maximum compression setting though,
I am assuming that due to my problem the buffers just arent strong enough, or big enough and it just needs a slightly bigger pop before the boot takes over and flings it open.
After it does pop i just need to pull the boot an inch or so then it flies open so the other parts appear to be doing their job.
I got the kit from rainsworth skoda and it came as the complete kit of which they have sold loads off, the part number for the buffers is z1k8827761d,
would appreciate if anyone had any advice on this or know if maybe they have sent me the part for a lighter tail gate or something

I did this mod a few weeks ago but it doesn't work that well...I've read its due to the cold.

so are you having the same problems as i am then,
if its the buffers im thinking that maybe ones with a larger compression rate would solve the problem

emmm nope 
now that i think about it the old ones where full of white grease
doh silly me, i will do that tomorrow
dont have any white grease, can you use anything else ?
come to think of it what is that white grease stuff actually called as i should have a tub for things like this

I used normal grease, shouldn't make a difference for this mod

The white grease probably is white lithium grease ( use that on your door locks and hinges )

Come to think of it, don't think I greased mine either... it worked once, then hasn't worked since, but I did install in December. 
Will grease them up.

Incidentally, how many notches on the bump stop are you guys using?

lol neither of us using the grease, lets see if that works.
with regards to the bump stop, i cant set it at all, going by the ecs tuning video you allen key it anti clockwise until it stops, then push it in, then turn it clockwise until it stops ?
mine doesnt stop turning either way ???
i called skoda and they assured me the part number i have is correct but im thinking am i doing something wrong here.
when you installed the bumps did yours stop turning as described ?
i am not sure if i have maximum compression or not but im thinking if the stops are set correctly there doesnt appear to be enough whoomph in order to get the struts to then take over and completelly open the boot ?
will try to grease up and report back.

I didn't put grease on mine either but didn't think that would make much difference.

My bump stops did stop turning in both directions with the allen key. Currently mine are at the lowest setting. I think I will bring them out 1-2 clicks to see if that helps.

bingo, watched your vid, that is the problem i am having, on your vid the boot JUST opens and you are on a flat surface, slight hill and it wont work same as mine.
this isnt right, will grease parts up and hopefully better.
i cant post vids yet as im stupid lol but if you grease yours up can you post a vid in same parking space to see if it helps.

I had some white grease on mine, but went to check anyways, give it a spary with some fluid chain grease Structovis BHD stuff we have here in work.

Guess what, it pops all the way up now, no problem. lol

Does it work the 1st time you try to open it? As in 1st try in the morning?

Mine does work if I have just closed the boot. The strut gas must get warmed up so then works fine the 2nd time.

But think I will put some grease on anyway. Also I have read you have to be careful with what grease/oil you use as some eat plastic?
