Which Exhaust APR Resonated or Milltek?
« on: July 12, 2009, 10:53:25 pm »
Anyone have experience on these on the Ed 30?

I want to keep it quiet as possible on the inside for the missus. A boomy exhaust is not what I'm looking for.

What sort of prices did you pay for the full turbo back package?

My old Milltek on the MKIV was quiet initially on the K03s but was much noisier when I put the APR DP cat linking it to stage 3+

I think there is only one of our members on here with the APR TBE and that is WhiteGTI.
And his sounds like no other, i was listening to it on the rollers at the last meet and it sounded like a spit-fire.
I have no idea what it is like inside, but from the outside it was both loud and boisterous.
Its a question of personal tastes once again, all i can say is i loved it.  :happy2:

Do yoy know if it was Res or Non Res?
I think they do some new technology for quiet running but I haven't heard one. I need it as quiet inside the car as possible to avoid upsetting the family

That's not good...the stock OE exhaust sounds quite nice IMO.

I am wondering if I leave the stock exhaust in place with the APR fuel pump and their FP map on stage 1 will give some improvement. APR exhaust is £1300 quid without fitment...oouch.

Don't Milltek replace it under their lifetime warranty scheme?

Can't you just get the uprated DP mated to the OEM exhaust with a downsizer? I'm sure people have done that...

Then, send it over to Pipewerx (or you're local, friendly 'zorst gaff) to have the ends changed for a couple of beefier looking ones.

Power released, nice and quiet and looks the part for £xxx less.  :happy2:
Sideways yo!

Nice thought.

Will look at that.

Gillm....surprised re your Milltek....I didn't have issues with mine on the MKIV. Thought they had a good reputation for quality.
Should replace on a no quibble warranty rather than making you travel for repairs. Perhaps they would like to pay for the fuel and time!

Never had any dealings with Blue Flame. Are they quiet in the cabin? I don't mind a 'slight' increase but want to ensure quiet motorway cruising to keep it refined.

May consider meeting up at a RR day before comitting.

....

SteveP has had both Resonated and Non-Resonated Milltek on his Ed30, IIRC.

Soundwise, the APR and Milltek and Blueflame are all different - It's very subjective which you prefer - Totally down to the individual.

They all give good aftersales service given half the chance.
