Bleep/Tone randomly coming from dash TDI 2.0
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:58:35 am »
Hi,

My commute car has started to randomly making a bleep tone, which lasts for 5 or so seconds, sometimes loud some times muffled.  There are no fault lights coming up.  However I do have the service now alert, which I can't help but think is linked.

On a 1 hour journey the beeping is from the start and goes away after 30 minutes, whilst it is intermittently making this beep tone the indicator clicking noise does not work, but comes back once the beeping goes away after 30 minutes.

Strange one and rather annoying.  Any ideas, i cant find any old posts with similar... :(

Thanks
Russ

The only other one I can think of that causes a the warning tone is when the outside temperature drops below 4 degrees

A break in the tail gate wiring would give this type of fault - do a wiggle test to see if you can replicate the fault!
