Hi All,
Well, after lots of reading and research I finally bought a Mk5 GTI two weeks ago, a 55 plate 5dr in Steel/United Grey.
I'm no stranger to VW's having owned a VR6 back in the day (before digital cameras were born, so sadly no pics) and the Mk5 is an upgrade from a '97 Mk3 8v GTI - So I currently own 2 GTI's. No prizes for guessing which keys get picked up first.
I'd like to thank the hosts of this great forum and the wisdom of the contributors who's info really helped me in my search, and will continue to do so I'm sure. I've got questions already, but I'll post them in the main forum.

PS. Alas, the VR6 came to a sticky end when I put it through a wall on the Woodhead Pass, just 2 weeks after fitting a new stainless Remus exhaust... damn that fruity warble!
