Removal of windscreen washer nozzles
« on: January 24, 2013, 11:22:37 pm »
Hi all,

Feel a bit stoopid asking this but one of my washer nozzles has started to only work at "half potential" I want to disconnect it from the hose pipe to try clean it out with air or a soak! Is there a particular nack to doing it? When I try pull it off it feels like it'll brake! Any suggestions?

Then soak in warm water.
I had to unclog my rear washer one time. I wandered around the kitchen blowing through it really hard. My face went purple and I was called a retard by a family member.

It worked though so sometimes the retards are rewarded.

A blast through with a compressor will usually do it.
I don't know what the fitting is like on a Golf, but I have also jammed the end of a foot pump on other cars in the past.

Sorry only giving an update about what I meant with regard to the fitting! When you pop the nozzle out of the bonnet, to get the pipe off there is a collar that needs to be twisted in order to release the pipe. This is what I was having trouble with.

I tool it off and soaked in warm water for a while, Also blasted through with a compressor but it is still the same! Looks like it needs a replacement nozzle!
