Sorry not really on topic but I'm planning wrapping the lower section on my R32 rear bumper, which luckily is a separate piece so should be easier.

Wanted to check what vinyl you used Martin?

Thanks

I've just both Helix Vinyl wrap (can't remember the grade but its Gloss Black) and have also used 3M 1080 G-12 Vinyl Wrap, also in Gloss Black, bought from eBay. I find the 3M easier to work with when heating and getting to "mould" to small areas but both are very good.

Is your R32 lower valance painted or is it a smooth surface or a textured plastic surface? Ideally the vinyl wrap needs a smooth surface to "bond" (stick) to. Textured surfaces don't work as well but if its textured its always worth a go.

A Scalpel, a Squeegee tool, a decent cotton glove and a Heat Gun (the wife's hair dryer) are the tools required and the warp.

Oh and leave the valance in place until you've got the main part of it wrapped and stretched out nice and smooth as your would be surprised how much physical pulling is needed sometimes and if the valance is off the car it is harder to keep still once the big areas are covered, then remove and smooth out to the edges and trim accordingly.

Ah yes forgot that the lower section is a textured surface and this isn't great for vinyl wrapping.

Will have a think about it.

Thanks
