K04 or L0380?
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:32:52 pm »
I have been running the K04 in my car for a while now. I have now blown the turbo seals. Not for certain but that is what i beleive to be the issue.

If the turbo is in fact needing replaced is their any point in staying with the k04 or is loba's L0380 a better Idea ?

I am with Revo and i am not sure how they are with Loba ? I remember reading on here that Revo do not support Loba products?

Have you compared the cost of both?

A used K04 with WMI would be cheaper than a new LOBA turbo I imagine. .

Depends what you want out of it  :happy2:

Replacement K04

LOBA will cost you an arm and a leg and REVO dont support their hardware so youd be force to buy new software

i have a jbs 390 coming up for sale. It was on my bro in laws ed30. The turbo has only covered 800 or so miles. It is in perfect condition. It is being removed due to the car being accident damaged. If your interested let me know pal. It cost him £1900 and has the reciept of proof. He can also take a pic of the speedo to prove milage. Cheers Gaz

The Loba380 might be pretty costly but if you send them a turbo it works out at a decent price. I was wanting to stay with revo tho after forking out near enough £800 for a map to them. I already have a water meth kit altho i have been a bit sceptical of doing it before the internals get done.  :happy2:

The main reason i was looking at the LO380 was for a bit of a change. Every one has a k04 and it gets a bit boring after a while. Not wanting to go down the road of a gtx30 etc. To me thats a little to much overkill on a front wheel drive car.  Altho i bet it it would be a good bit of fun.

Get a LOBA LO380, reuse your REVO K04 software, maybe go 1 stage up and ad an Eboost 1 or 2 to dial in the new turbo. This will in the case of an Eboost 2 to my knowledge give you a possibility to start in "stock" low settings if needed. I have this so if the wife needs the car she can handle the power, and when i drive i just select another setting  :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)
