TV Time…Opinions welcomed.

Well its time to upgrade my 26" Tosh LCD in the bedroom  :sick: This time im after a 32" LED Smart TV, and I've more or less decided on the very capable Panasonic TX-L32E5B.
(However, I've also been considering the Samsung UE32ES5500 and the LG 32LS570T).
These can all be found for around £329 - £420 online. Sometimes they come with a 5year warranty, sometimes they don't.

I"ve always favoured Panasonic, and I've always bought from a Panasonic dealer. This nearly always results in getting the Free 5year Panasonic Warranty.  :smiley:

However, my Local Pana- Dealer are asking £410 for the L32E5B with warranty, but I can get the same from Richer Sounds with 5year warranty for £329.  :surprised:


Has anyone used Richer Sounds? Are they any good? Is the Warranty they offer any good? or is it better to Stick with the Panasonic store and their Warranty? (guaranteed Panasonic Techincian, and genuine parts)

£80 is quite a saving. :ashamed:

I bought my freesat box from Richer sounds.  I could probably get you it cheaper from them.  Inbox me  :wink:

i've never bought from richer sounds, but my friend is a bit of an audio-phile and speaks very highly of them.

my advice would be as above, to get John Lewis to price match. the high street is a dangerous place atm, and if i were asked to i'd bet on John Lewis outliving richer sounds.

I bought my 42" Panasonic TV from Richer Sounds and would recommend them to anybody. I first bought from them I think over 20 years ago as they are way cheaper than anywhere else.

That Panasonic unit can be had in Costco at the moment for £269.99 + vat with the 5 year warranty, bought my dad one earlier this week.

I went for a 32" panasonic in the bedroom a couple of years ago. I got one in white which just suits the room better than harsh black - stuck it on a quality vogel's bracket, even my wife thinks it looks cool. Freeview, iplayer, Internet access & hooked it up to a hard drive for recording stuff

I got the Panasonic 32E5B Smart TV after all.  :notworthy:

After telling me they couldn't do any better than £400 the Panasonic store in Lincoln came down to £360 with the genuine Pana 5yr warranty.

The only other Panasonic store cheaper was Vaughans in Wales, but the only way you can receive the Panasonic 5yr warranty is to buy the TV in-store. It's not available by phone or online.

Very happy with my purchase for £360.  :jumpmove:

Well if you are sitting comfortably I shall begin.

Nothing to it really. I rang my local Panasonic dealer and said I wanted to buy X and he said ok. I then said what about the warranty and he said no problem we stamp it up before we deliver. Job done.

The whole point of it is that you are supposed to visit the shop and have a demo. I guess that allows them to either upsell you or at least add some accessories.  :happy2:

Pretty sure Netgear make an aftermarket bit of kit to connect your TV to your wiffy, but I dunno if it works out much cheaper or not?

Home plugs might be a better option anyways, as the connection is faster (usually)
