as far as I know there isnt a limit with USB, but with SD its 2GB and SDHC its 32GB
I use SD in my HU and it works brilliantly

My RCD 510 (non SatNav) reads a 32GB SDHC fine. Under £20 to buy a class 10 card (fast read and write).

SatNav enabled RNS 510 depends on firmware version to read SDHC.

Do you need any special folder name structure on SD card, or just copy mp3's into a single root folder?
Would albums in different folders work?

Different folders works best when you have lots of albums. You can navigate up and down the folder tree. Keep the folder names as short as you can, I think approx 20 characters is the max displayed.

I use a 32gb SDHC with my RCD510, dont need it for albums as i have an ipod dock in the centre console so i use the memory card for mixes, i copy straight from dropbox onto the card no other folders required.
