Yeah, mine has leather and dual zone climate (now updated to Mk6 Climate unit). Mine also had the MFD2 which has been replaced by RNS 510, due to this being a factory option, I got the full FIS clocks too. I had to retrofit the MFSW with DSG paddles though. Best mod I have done on the car so far.

Not going to bother with the folding mirrors as they fold so little, not really worth the outlay imo. I would rather spend that money on a remap and the S3 intercooler.

Yeah like yourself, not too keen on doing the folding mirrors myself. Just seems to be a bit of trick mod considering the outlay for them like you said. Do like the idea of the MFSW with DSG paddles though, got me thinking now haha. Yet another mod to add to the list I guess, thanks!. How did you get on with the RNS 510? From what I've read there can be battery drain issues with the newer units? (yes done a lot of lurking and reading various posts)

Even thought mine is a 2008, I ended up having the battery drain issue when changing to the RNS, so just got a new one off Ed and changed it out. Never had a problem since. I am however going to be selling my RNS and BT kit soon to be replaced by the 8" monster from Alpine..............

Just remember if you do retrofit the MFSW, then you will need a new steering controller too.

Thanks for the heads up, still very much learning the MK5 platform. Lots of reading, researching and questions for the future no doubt. Been watching a few units on ebay lately, £250+ seems to be the going rates the RCD510, not come across many RNS versions though.

Can I ask what the price of the rear boot spoiler and was it smooth or textured?

I have left my skirts textured and going down that route with the GTi front splitter next.

Thanks

The boot spoiler is a 3 piece affair, and comes primed ready for paint and is priced at £137.50+VAT

Sadly no, I suppose if you wanted to go down the textured route you could always paint it with textured paint, but I am unsure of just how good the finish is going to be. Probably would not recommend it to be honest.
