HPI Checks ?
« on: February 16, 2013, 04:22:50 pm »
I think there are several services that provide HPI Checks

Which ones are the best and/or give the best comprehensive results ?

I did see someone on this forum can get them done

I used to use Trade Web on HPi.co.uk but I don't have access to it anymore and wasn't worth me setting up my own account.

It costs around £20 for a detailed result and if you fill in all the details it will cover certain things like mileage discrepancies, etc.

Just use one of the £2 text check services. Same results for much less.

I used HPI when I bought my GTI.

It was £20 but as long as you give them all the details before you buy the car they will cover you incase it turns out to be a write off or cloned car etc.

You also get 7 days free insurance which coverd me fully comp to test drive the car and drive it home.

Thats pretty good , one day quotes to get my boys car home are £26 . So who did you do yours with to get the insurance ?

There is no mention of the drive away insurance so not too sure if it is offerd anymore.

Have you rang your own insurance for a days swap to get your sons car home. A couple of times i have had a courtesy car from the dealers who wanted a tenner so i jut rang my insurance and they never charged.  :happy2:

HPI

That's who I use to do all my checks i think is about £17 and you are insured for about £10k if things go wrong as long as you follow there guidelines.

I've seen people use those txt checks and they give very limited information and won't give any guarantees from what I remember, much better to spend that extra. HPi was offering the free 7 day insurance deal when I last checked about 2 or 3 months ago but if you ring then they'll tell you if it's still included and take your details
