Newbie with Jetta 2.0 TFSI says hello!
« on: February 15, 2013, 09:57:02 pm »
Hi Chaps

Hello to you all.  Thought it was time I best register!

I've currently got a rare Jetta 2.0 TFSI Sport.  A rare car by most measures, I bought it last year from a VW main dealer with only 54K on the clock.  I'm only the second owner, it has a full VW service history and still has a comprehensive VW warranty with it.

I'm a bit of a car fiend, and pair the car with a fully restored Honda Integra Type R.  The Jetta gets the daily duties!

Mods on the car so far include;

Eibach Sportline springs
K&N panel filter
Milltek non resonated cat back
ABT Germany spoiler
15mm hubcentric spacers rear
10mm hubcentric spacers front

It's a shame that it's quite a basic spec car; the first owner is now retired and seemed to pick just the entry car.  I have a 6 speed box, 310 head unit, 10 speaker system, cloth sport seats, A/C and that's about it!  No Xenons, no sunroof.  Shame, but it does keep the front axle load down to 1020kg which is very light for one of these!

Future mods are to include a Stage 1 Bluefin calibration (have warranty so it would be nice to swap back when needed), and 18" BBS RS style wheels.  I wouldn't mind an Edition 30 front chin, but I'll wait for now.

It is a brilliant car.  Only ever run on V Power, I seem to average around 30mpg.  Can't wait for the calibration though, as it could do with another 40 hp!

I've enclosed a picture for you.  Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers

Rez

Cheers chaps, thanks for the welcome!

Yep, DC2 is UK car hence twin headlights.  I bought the car from it's first owner.  Still has a full Honda service history with every bill/MOT from day 1!  I've changed everything you can and can't see, and in November it rolled out of my friends bodyshop after a comprehensive repaint!  Shes a beauty!

Cheers guys.

Yeah I agree.  The ITR is the best handling car I've ever had.  In fact, I just got it back today having visited my Honda racing specialist in Fleet.  Today it had;

2 new rear calipers with carriers
Front and rear genuine brake pads
HEL stainless steel braided brake lines
Stoptech brake fluid
Replacement engine mounts with all new fitting hardware

All I can say is WOW.  Engine mounts came off and after 153000 they were, err, completely knackered!  So much nicer in gearshifting now, less engine vibration, smoother clutch take up etc.  Superb!!!

Still bedding the brakes in, but it's nice to have a rear caliper thats actually modulating again the disc rather than stuck to it!

These cars keep costing you but you just keep on spending...... :scared:

Well TGM Sport Honda are in Fleet but I'm in London!

Bit of a trek I know, but I trust Tom implicitly and like the way he works on Hondas.

Just chipping-in on the rarity of the Jetta TFSi..........

Back in 2006 they were continental europe only model and I found this out when I went to see my friends at VW Racing in MK.
They needed one to turn into a VW Cup car and hence had to import one from Ze Joymans.

Was uber-high spec including unheard of bluetooth preparation (at the time rare) and non-uk spec auxiliary heater with remote control !!

 :laugh:

Hope the pics are of interest  :innocent:
