Golf R Caliper Clips
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:36:45 am »
Has anyone ever lost a set of the Golf R style caliper plates ? I had a set fitted to my cupra and they have been on there for 3 years, i've recently changed the pads to some Pagid ones and the ... well what can only be described as locating plate was slightly different to the oem pads (one facing outwards) however today i notice one is missing and the other is lying on the drive away from the car. Now knowing how difficult these are to fix put in and they have a fetish for trying to take your skin off i can only thik that some git has tried nicking them, hopefully hurting themselves in the process. Any idea how much a replacement one is ?

Are you talking about a retaining spring?

Your retaining spring may need to be re-tensioned, I didn't have Golf R clips but the spring worked loose and caused a pad to rattle and fell out on my drive.

Couldn't tell you a price for replacement...

Yep retaining spring, one was on the drive one has gone completely, they were a tight fit getting them in so don't think they could have fallen out.
