Assesment day & Interview

Hi guys ive got an Assesment day with an Interview in two weeks at IBM in Warwick . And i was wondering if we got anyone on the forum that has a background in such companies and what i should expect .

Its for a Placement Year. Most probably technical , but i really dont know exactly what my role would be as i will
Be moving around in different departments but for sure i am not doing software enginnering .my ideal role is more Techincal

Hello mate. May or may not apply but I placed a couple of guys at an IT firm the other week. They were technical advisors.

The assessment day took the form of a group discussion where you may be marked on your problem solving, personality and contribution.

They were then set a 1hr written assessment, relevant to the job role. During which, they were pulled out twice to have a more formal interview with either the assessors/ hiring managers.

Like I say, it may vary, but this is the usual make up of an assessment day.

Don't worry about it, just be yourself and I'm sure you will sail through.

Have they not said anything about what the day will include?

Having been through several Assessment Days I would practice competency based questions e.g. Describe a situation where you had to...

Just had my assement centre and it was great i will
Fond outwithin next 10'days whether i have the job or not

It was ok and i have juust found out that i have successfully passed the stage aswell :) and thanks for your link it was eru helpful indeed
