My mk5
« on: November 08, 2009, 12:54:37 pm »
Please be gentle, Ive only had the car a couple of weeks....

Not had too much done to it yet im afraid...

Im quite happy with the location, the motor just need a large poke with the 'low stick'

My second favorite, the german plates make the car look so moody!

My favorite picture!

I really hope im im not embarrasing myself by posting these.

And the last one.

Very nice mate, What are your plans for it?
If it were me I would get a new grill of some sort, The GT ones always look nice IMO.
And I wouldn't worry about posting the pics of a standard Golf, when you look at some of the other cars in here, Be it Leon's or even Clio's

I have a debadged grille in my garage, I took one look at i though and thought.... it looks sh*t. as far as the gti grille goes, If i do that i will be changing whole front which will cost more monies... :sad1:

Plans include:

Coilovers
Deepdish euro style alloys (already set my heart on a set of Inovits LSM's
Exaust
Remapped (I hear I can get it up to about 170BHP)

think thats it....
any suggestions?

Those are the main things that I can think of really,
Everyone goes for new alloys, and with new alloys always means some lowering.
Milltek or Blueflame exhaust? If you are going for a new exhaust then maybe a new intake as well to give it the maximum benefit.
Maybe get a bit of carbon fibre in there too, inside or out, its all good.
Oh, and that remap does sound good too, thats something I need to sort, 170bhp does sound pretty good, is yours the 1.6?
Colour coding is always a surefire thing too, but on a black car not really essential IMO.

na, its the 2.0TDI 140BHP, I Dont want to push a remap to hard though, hense only an increase of about 20-30BHP I've heard the horror stories of cars hitting 4000revs and exploding on the way home so dont wanna push it too hard. as far as carbon fibre goes, may get some of the car wrapped but that will be something way down the line.
Like you said, with alloys comes lowering, I want to be loooow so probably looking at lowering at least 80mm with the deepdish alloys on. all after christmas though...
Colour coding? lol its black so colour coding is probably just gonna be more black!

Looks good mate :happy2:

Is yours an import? I ask because every golf SE spec and above comes with light and rain sensor (in the UK).

Sounds like you've got some good plans. I wouldn't prioritise the exhaust though, you don't gain a lot with exhausts on tdi's.
