.
I've been running AP 4-pot BBK since 2006 on my Mk5 GTI.

Perfect stopping power for fast road and occasional trackday use. Now balanced braking with S3 OEM brakes on rear. Result = Extremely even and well planted braking.

nice mate i just brought the 4 pot kit.. had the 6pot kit on my previous car, but i think the 4pots will be well upto the job on the lighter golf for what i will use them for anyway and thought would keep the weight down that little bit more :)

....My car was one of the GTI's used for testing fitment up at AP Racing in Coventry. The guy I spent the day with was a senior race engineer with over 30 years experience. He told me that unless I was doing trackdays every weekend and also pushing my car very hard indeed, their 4-pots were totally up to the job for the weight of a Mk5 Golf and that AP 6-pots would be "overkill". also that I didn't need AP's on the rear of my FWD Golf.

i doubt a 370mm disc would fit behind 18" though?

I'm on AP pro 5000+ with 362mm discs and they fit well behind 18" (about 0.3-0.4" left between the caliper and the TD pro-race 1.2 rim). Seen them on a OEM 18" rim and the gap was only 0.1" wich means not all 18" rims have the same inner diameter !
