fittiing tyres
« on: July 16, 2015, 08:02:37 pm »
Went to see my regular tyre fitter to fit 6 month old tyres to my new rims, but he is closed for summer hols. So went to another place a couple of miles away, went in, 3 of them standing around doing nothing, asked if they could fit the tyres on to my new rims. She asked "if the tyres were new, and did I have the receipt for the tyres", I told her the tyres were not new, she replied " we cannot fit them then", wtf, no wonder these places go bust

Some places just won't fit tyres that your supplying in the hope that you buy tyres from them, Others say that they can't because of there insurance.

Or they may have a bad experience in the past with someone else that supplied there own tyres and now think it's not worth the hassle.

I do no your frustration. It's a right pain, a lot of places near me are the same. A pal of mine now has a tyre machine in his unit so thankfully I can use that if needed.

I had 4 new tyres fitted by VW recently which I had bought online, they didn't even question it, plus to add they have fitted a used tyre before now as well. I guess it depends where you go
