New photobucket site... anyone else hate it?
« on: February 20, 2013, 04:15:21 pm »
So I use photobucket regularlyfor work and sharing photos on forums.

They have had a beta site for ages but now they have forced everyone onto it.

So first issue is that you cant seem to link to images now and have them come up on their own just as an image... instead it always takes you to their website.

Second... you cant enlarge or view full size images!

Rubbish.

anyone else equally as stuck with it?

Yeh I don't use it that much, just uploading pics for forums, but noticed this beta site. Changed back to the original with a warning that soon I'd have to use the new one.

Sucks really, can't put my finger on it but it's just harder work now.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I tried the Beta and then moved back to the original.

Seems like they have broken it.

Its a flipping pain... worked fine before but not being able to link to full size images is pretty stupid and forcing all links to go to photobucket is rude lol

what other photo sharing alternatives are there?

Flickr is ok if a little clunky.

Might try another of the free ones.

I use tinypic.com and have no problems with it. I think it's run by photobucket but not 100% sure on that.

What MC71 said.

I personally don't like it and have reverted to the old version.

Think you have 12 days before they force you onto the new one so I just moved over today anyway as I needed to do some bits... only to find it doesnt work.

.
I switched over a while ago and am used to the new version without any problems other than the Organize option isn't working yet. I find that some actions are easier and a big improvement. I have the Plus (was NewPro) version.

I've hated the changes they made since 2005. It just gets harder and harder to just upload and share.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

....When you say "share" do you mean to share amongst other Photobucket members while on their site?

I only use it to link the source to post the images on forums etc.

Testing this picture on their new website. Note the easy to see IMG link on the right hand side!!

I haven't noticed the site upgrade until now. Photobucket have a handy iPhone app I always tend to use.
