looking for 60 mm wheel caps but so many fakes
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:14:19 pm »
looking for a set of new wheel caps for my summer wheels
18 wheels and i think it is 60mm ones i need but so many on e-bay for as little as £7 a set claiming to be original parts.
Does anyone know of a trusted place to buy a set, im assuming the fake ones will look crap after a few months.
cheers

A trusted place? Have you tried a VW garage?

Go to your local dealer. Only way to be sure. Ask them for a discount...tell them you'll be back to buy more parts in future.

Do people know what size centre caps would fit Team Dynamics pro race 1.2's?

I got these for my 18" OEM alloys, genuine but you'd need to double check yours

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-GENUINE-NEW-VW-ALLOY-WHEEL-CENTRE-CAPS-65mm-55mm-/251228058321?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7e5bf2d1

Those look too cheap to be genuine. But if they are then very good value.
Diamond Black 2007 (56) Golf GTI 3Dr DSG ¦ 18" Monza II's ¦ Cruise control ¦ MFSW ¦ Highline ¦ Rear parking sensors ¦ PDT Stage 1 ¦ Forge Twintake ¦ H&R Sport Springs ¦ NQSBBK ¦ R32 Rear bumper ¦ BCS Powervalve Sports R32 style TBE ¦ Valeo LED Rear Lights ¦ Xenon lights with HID kit ¦ DNX521DAB ¦ 12mm Spacers all round ¦

i saw they ones on e-bay and thought the same thing, to cheap
who knows though they may well be oem.
My alloys are rep monza 2s, good reps but reps all the same, noob question but exactly what part do you measure in order to get the correct size.
It looks like the outside is 60mm but are the proper ones 65mm ? only thing that stopped me buying from vw as once i take them out the packet they prob wont refund them.
Is it the outside exact gap that you take your measurement from as the above link is 65mm with a 55mm inside, i should have kept the old ones but i threw them away when i put the wheels into storage,
Thanks guys

^^^

With yours being reps the genuine caps may not fit. You will need to measure the front and the clips on the inside if possible.

EDIT:

Just noticed you have thrown them away so you can't measure the caps.

I have bought a few things from that seller over the years and they have all been genuine VAG.

Scott we had this discussion on your last account for the same kind oif thing, those cheap fuses I bought 100 of are still working perfectly  :P

lol have you actually used the fuses yet, maybe fuses are - just fuses - and are so simple that they work regardless but yeah you got a better deal than me  :congrats:
will just buy the cheap caps on the link and see if they fit, only £9.99 i guess
