a lumpy idle

right i have posted this problem on here before but no answers, firstly i had a hesitation on pull away so changed the dv and it was well and truly naffed, also noticed that it as full of engine oil, once replaced was a totally different car to drive  , but now the car idles abit lumpy and dont know where to start looking. plugs and coils have been changed not long ago as i had a coil fail so replaced all 4 and plugs to match. oh and i done the dipstick test an once out runs even worse so does this rule out the PCV or can it just be on its way out

I think you should get a diagnostic scan and see what comes up.

PCV sounds ok as you've done the dipstick test.

done a scan and nothing shows up atall so i am very confused

My thoughts would be to look here if you've got no access to VCDS to scan the vehicle

IIRC the tfsi engine is quite common with a slightly lumpy idle. Am I right in saying that the rev needle doesnt mave when you feel the judders??

Mate you hit the nail on the head it does it when sat at lights and the needle don't more atall that's why I was confused it just feels abit juddery in low speed then pulls like a train

Sounds exactly the same as mine....does the lumpyness stedy up when you press the clutch down??

No it still stays the same. It's getting worse

I'm gonna try the Terraclean this afternoon as I have a slight idle misfire so could be a slight injector malfunction.

Use VCDS and logs blocks 15 and 16 and see if you have any misfires showing.

what revs should a mk5 gti idle at? also what does the dipstick test show?
also would it be similar or have the same effect as taking the oil cap off whilst running? thanks

Done, getting booked in looking at £95, sound about right? Read the info but anyone had it done ad what difference does it are really? My Gti is 06 fvwsh with 100k.
