rim widths... ;)
« on: February 22, 2013, 08:28:06 pm »
right, some people run 8.5 on the front and 9.5 on the rear, seeing as we have front wheel drive cars why do we/they do it? is it just for extra poke/dish/concavity on the rears? if your lowered will it rub?

i ask because im getting some new wheels soon, wont be doing track days so thats not an issue, just want good 'stance'

Purely for looks, but I think it looks stupid. The height of Barry in my opinion

This might not be the best example but this was my car with 8.5j rims and 235 tyres and  to my eye it sticks out enough to look good without all the hassle of poked wheels and stretch tyres. My car was lower than 30mm and never had problems with rubbing.

Running 8.5 fronts and 9 rears on BMW rear fitment - et30... -3 camber and the cars sits nice... Only problem you'll occur is going through rear tyres... Every 6 months

I wouldnt run 9.5 rears on daily unless u have high et and big stretch and camber,
But its your car pal
Heres an 8j et35 with a 215/35
Rear wheel

Its quite low though and thats with natural camber

toe eats through tyres ALOT faster than camber will

A proper alignment with camber will save your tyres  :happy2:

True that... Suppose my camber wear is worse considering I have a 100kilo sound system in the back..
