I have a noise coming from my front wheel the near side one its mostly there at low speeds and sometime at speed but when i brake its stops. My mechanic has no idea wat it is plus it passed mot with it. Any help with this would be great.
2007 gti edition 30 with every factory xtra

If the noise stops when you brake it suggests that its linked to the brakes.
Good place to start would be - check the pads are not worn down so thin they have started to delaminating from the backing, have something caught in them, the caliper is not releasing when you release the pedal causing them to drag, distorted pads or disk, badly worn disks not clearing pads.
