RCD510 help
« on: March 01, 2013, 11:12:13 am »
Hi All,

This was my first time at trying to replace a car headunit and it all seemed to go ok apart from the boot logo. I replaced the oem stereo on my 07 plate Leon Cupra with an RCD510 3rd Generation Bosch. After plugging in the RCD510 it displayed the VW boot logo, but after turning the unit on and off it swapped the the Seat Sound System 3.0 logo. The issue with this logo is that its very distorted, has anybody got any ideas on how to rectify this, or reset the RCD510 to factory settings?

My second question is with regards to the 3.5mm aux input, I assume I need to swap some pins on the quad lock. I think I need to swap CD-R, and CD-L on the old unit to AUX-R, and AUX-L on the rcd510.

OLD

New

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

Thats strange they are viewable for me. I have loaded the pics from the parrot forum, as they have the same pin diagram as on my unit's. Below is a link to the forum:

http://forum.parrot.com/english/viewtopic.php?id=10531

I don't know if I need to mention but on the Leon the aux button cycles between the aux (3.5m jack) and the external cd changer.

Thanks

Richard

Right, then had a play with wiring this morning and got the AUX working now by moving 2 pins.

I'm still having an issue with the start-up screen being very distorted, and finding it very very hard to get U-Nuts/Spire Nuts in any local stores.

Well that was a fail big time, moved the two pins over then 1 hour later and the battery was completely dead. I now need to work out if the aux killed the battery or if it was the can-bus
