Tommy, I spliced the wire (red) into the grey wire for the headlight and earthed the other wire (black).



Cheers mate I must have earthed mine wrong got it hooked into dash behind the fuse box
Ill change it over and see

Its just a way of life.

Just had a look at the wires theres no solid grey one there? Only black and white striped and black snd yellow striped?

Its just a way of life.

Just had a look at the wires theres no solid grey one there? Only black and white striped and black snd yellow striped?

I wired mine into the grey wire that goes to the headlight switch mate. Same place?

Engine cover and black heatsheild look really tidy bud  :happy2:, love this car

You've trimmed your cover really good I like how you've kept the bit of oem intake cover near the battery cover hiding some of the intake pipework   :congrats:

Picked up a few bits this week.

New wipers, OEM Edition 30/S3/TT short shifter and some 42 Draft bushes, plus picked up a pair of Michelin PS3s for the rear:










To fit the shifter and bushes I removed the intake:




Then remove the shifter end and took out the rubbers to replace with the new solid bushes:









Remove old shifter:



Old vs new, pin is slighty in a different location to reduce shift by about 10-12%:



All fitted:



Shift feels much better and the bushes made a nice improvement.


Took the car to my brother garage to get the tyres fitted:







All for now  :happy2:

Cheers Jake, yes pleased able to trim the cover. Heat shield took a while to come from the USA, but worth it  :smiley:

Wrapped my 3' decat downpipe at the weekend with some heat fabric:




Soaked tape in water first for tight wrap:




Stainless steel ties:




All done  :happy2::







Very pleased, hopefully be fitting in the near future.

Off with the engine cover and replaced old one:



Old on the left, new on the right:







All fitted:






Another maintenance job off the list  :happy2:
