Missing bumper part
« on: July 19, 2009, 03:23:07 pm »
Can anyone tell me if my front splitter/bumper is missing a part?

I'm not sure you can see it on the photo I've attached but when I've seen other GTi's on here and out and about they seem to have another part thats like a thin lip running the full length of the gap thats on mine? It was like that when I bought it so never really thought anything about until now. Can the other bit be bought and does anyone know the part number etc and will it fit to the existing splitter?

Yes, you're correct, there is normally a little lip thingy under the front spoiler. Your's actually looks quite good from that angle without it!

It's about £25 + vat from the dealer

I added it to my GT170D Sport as they don't come with them

Don't judge me by your ability !

It looks like it's part 4 on the ETKA diagram: -

Just like to confirm that the lower front lip spoiler missing off Bootmeisters car can be removed effortlessly on contact with kerbs !!
Bootmeister, did you get this part replaced ? Was the part number listed above 1k0807110 correct ?

As far as i'm aware only the ED30 & Pirelli have the front spiltter as standard...

I think the spiltter finishes the GTi of nicely and it makes the stance look lower.

All GTIs except US-spec vehicles come with the front splitter.

I never managed to get a price for it unfortunately as I have had to fork out for the timing belt and service and all my other pennies are going towards the CAI and remap!
