Retaining clip part number
« on: February 28, 2013, 02:14:49 pm »
Can someone please tell me what the part number or even the name for the metal fastening clip is on the turbo intake pipe next to the MAF. There are two of them and one of them is lying at the bottom of my engine bay currently  :surprised:

Many thanks

EDIT - Sorry to post a pic of a non-GTI in this forum, but its the first pic I found on google showing the clip I am looking for!

im pretty sure you have to buy the whole pipe for that clip as they arent sold separately.

I enquired about the rubber seal that is on the end of the hose and was told i had to buy the full pipe... :stupid:

Any idea how much the pipe is? I guess that makes sense as the clip would not have fallen off if the pipe hadn't been previously broken by some numpty at the dealership.

I suspect the H will be the latest revision!

If you have never taken that pipe off you are in for treat btw. It is the worst offending piece of car part I have come across when it comes to taking off and putting on. I used a reatract hose clamp plier and even then it was not easy!

EDIT - just noticed some revisions have a recirc pipe for DVs on later engines. My AXX engine does not have this as the DV is located near the bottom of the engine!

No idea, as I took mine off to fit my Forge Twintake air intake kit, and then when I took that off, putting it back on. I do need a new one though as I have broken one of the clips on the current one.

Please do let me know how much it is at VW.

The H version is used with a K04 turbo with a relocated DV. For a K03 turbo you want the G version.

Thanks! That's what I thought it might be!
