It's an add on box you plug into the car's canbus system and it enables you to see most of the parameters in the highline display that you normally would need VCDS for.
As extra it can be used to several comfort adjustments, such as comfort turn signal number oftimes indicating, dip mirror when parallel parking and others.
I hope this helps??

Over the top mod list ;o)

not as hard as through twas going to be, depending on what age your car is depends on wher eit is located though. to be honse i found trying to get the canbus back in its cradle was harder than getting to it and plugging the polar in

I have a 60 plate mk6 gti now, depending on how hard it is I may get one. Does it need coding via vcds?

no, you can upload latest firmware off polar site onto box, fit it, cycle the ignition it should then come up on highline but then it goes and you have to disconnect battery for 10 min fot it to return. Bacillus is the man to ask re any polar queries  :happy2:

Did I hear my name being called?

And no, you don't need vcds for any coding with the polar.

Personally I now find it invaluable but then I like to see everything is running in spec.

I think if you have Highline it is a must as you are not utilising your Highline fully without it

Here's a pic of one of the parameters screens in my mk5.
Theyre customisable to show whst you want, from a fixed list of parameters.
