hi guys, recently I had a cam follower fail causing various damage to my cam, housing of the HPFP and also the autotech internals
now I noticed my lift pump was making a horrible noise when the fault happened and I though it may have been the lift pump causing the misfire etc so I replaced it with a new one and obviously the fault was still there and then I found it was the follower so replaced all the bits that needed it.
now the lift pump has gone from a grind noise to Very noticeable whine inside the car and outside
the car does feel a bit flat below 5k and the fault found was a low pressure fault, now the lift pump was replaced with a used one from eBay froma breakers yard, my qquestion is could it be the lift pump of a low pressure sensor?
I have replaced the autotech internals
sensor on the HPFP
lift pump
fuel filter
hpfp housing
the noise is a very unsteady whine? 100% not what I was like when the previous pump was there, that was a loud grind type of noise and changed to a whine when I put the second hand pump in.
any help or advice would be great
