MK5 BKD injection timing

hi need advice.
had timing belt change last year think garage has messed up.
bit long but will explain, dropped car off 10am for TB & water pump, was told to collect 3.30pm.
i went at time told & told not finished yet.
so i waited around 4pm guy came out asked me if my car started normally ok, i explained yes guy went back in.
at 4.30 guy came back out car will still be a while you can have a courtesy car i will ring when done.
so got a call 6.30 car done.
he explained 1st time the belt had slipped a tooth.
next few days noticed harder to start.
now i am getting 100 miles £20 diesel, in last few days i have read about the injection cam needs set up after TB change which is why i am here.
i looked yesterday at my injection cam the 3 13mm bolts are as far to the left as they will go ( is this rite )
or has he missed a tooth again & compensated it with the adjustment on INJ cam.
will be getting a vcds scan later thanks to member deamon so as yet have no idea what torsion value is.
i know bit long but any help welcomed.

There is a locking pin kit that doesnt allow the timing to be wrong.  If they didnt use that then the timing will be out.

was this done by VW or a private garage?

well VW if they did it offer a 2 year gurantee on their work.

if a independent did it depends on their rules.  good ones will cover their work and parts if OEM was used.

or take it to Alex here, he sort it out

VW independant i will need to check waranty.
 when i enquired guy said £300 belt & water pump when i collected car he gave my service book a stamp but wouldnt give a reciept explained because i was paying cash.

i wouldnt really want to go back to someone like that.  sounds like they unsure of what they doing.

Mine was difficult to start after the timing belt was changed, turned out he just marked it with tip ex and didn't use the pins, went to a vw specialist and asked them about it, he put it on his ramp, and sorted it out with the correct vw pins and all is well!

This sounds like a very similar issue I had with my old mk4 PD150. Good old choclate camshaft issue. Was replaced anlong with followers and it came back never running right. Took it back saying to them it was injector setup. They had the car a week and only checked the MAF  I put up with it for 18 months which in the time ate another camshaft. Decided to replace again myself this time and found the once the crankshaft locking tool was in I couldn't even get the camshaft tool in the timing was that far out. By that time the damage was done and it had done alot of internal damage. Needless to say I have never used them since or would recommend them. Another VW/Audi 'specialist'.

sounds like my mk4, dought the garage had done vw before as it was a citroen main dealer but the owners where family friends, preformance was down, took it somewhere else, deisel pump was 5 teeth out.
will only use vw dealers in future, unless someone actually recommended a vw indi personally.
