Just fitted full chrome pack and problem
« on: March 03, 2013, 12:38:09 pm »
Most of them are nice and easy, the fuel switch is a bit of PITA, but partially removing the door card and fitfrom beneath... Everything works fine, but thought I would do a quick VCDS scan, and it comes back with:

==
1 Fault Found:
00096 - Drivers Door Central Locking (Safe) Motor (V161)
            012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent
==
 :confused:

There were no errors before installation...
I wiped the error and rescanned and it returned.

The central locking is fine too..  :rolleye: do you think this could be down to the switch pack, or has removing the door card disturbed something?

Hopefully you've just disturbed a wire or connector. Take the door card off and check everything.

Otherwise the door lock mechanism may be on a limited lifespan.

Thanks.  Yes hopefully it's something simple, and it's a bit of a coincidence I suppose.

For anyone looking in it's on VCDS wiki as: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00096
