Has anyone done this themselves?
If so,whats involved?

I'm aware that the system has to be drained(which it is as the thing leaks) and then regassed, but is the actual changing of the compressor a doable job for a homer?

I'll assume from the zero response that no-one else has done this themselves, despite it being a common fault?

As the system has to be 100% sealed/tight after replacement i would recommend a pro to do the job, also there is metal shards in the system so it has to be flushed before new items can be fitted or you will stand in the same situation within 10 month time, trust me i know due to a sh**ty VAG workshop not doing it right the first time on mine  :fighting:

Over the top mod list ;o)
