Gents as you no I've just bought my first gti and I read a topic on pulling dipstic out and the car drops on idle and runs lumpy what would that mean can some one point me in the direction of the topic please thanks

Yeah running lumpy when pulling out the dipstick it what is should do, means your PCV valve is working good.
