Sky TV - Absolute Bunch of W@nkers!!!
« on: March 06, 2013, 03:34:00 pm »
Trying to cancel as im moving to a new build development. They are saying that i agreed to a new 12 month contract when i took multiroom. Which is utter horsesh*t. I did not agree to anything of the sort.

If they cancel my account, there will be a £14 charge. Im happy to pay this. But they will not cancel my account, and are telling me i cannot cancel until 21st April.

This means that they will get another 3x full months service charges out of me, instead of just 1 month and £14. Disgraceful, illegal.

Just relax! Saint steve works for Sky and is quite high up ( usually 2nd or 3rd floor. )

He will fix this problem for you and return you, to your once happy state of mind.  :innocent:   :popcornsoda:

Cancel the Direct Debit - or just use SkyGo, at least you have something for your cash.

Cancel the Direct Debit - or just use SkyGo, at least you have something for your cash.

Apparently Sky are quite keen on bad marks on your credit record and sending out CCJs.

Just drop your package down to the basic one, cheap as chips and then cancel when you can.

Did this with Orange when I wanted to cancel as was moving overseas, just dropped it to basic £12pm tariff rather than the £45pm I was paying then cancelled after 4 months.

Ive spoken to 5 different people today. Been on the phone for approximately 2 hours. I was on the phone for 1 hour last Friday and spoke to several people. Finally managed to actually speak to a manager just now, and he has processed the cancellation for me there any then.

WTF???????

I love how sky works. I received and friends and family code for 1/2 price tv. As i was out of my 12months contract i spoke to the sales person, gave them the relevant code but they were not willing to offer me the deal as i was an existing customer  :fighting: With that i cancelled there and then. A week later i get a phone call offering me a new deal, half price tv with no 12month contract  :stupid:

That desperate for new business, I was actively encouraged to cancel my sky package a year back so i could get a new package as (and I quote him) "you would be a new customer, therefore new business rates apply" (Basically a half price deal for 12 months), was going to do it but relocated and sky package already in house.

Straight forward for me!

Called on Sunday. Waited 10 mins, offered 25% discount to stay, declined, cancellation processed.

Letter thru post today to confirm disconnection!

Simples.

One of the lucky few. Check the Sky forum for all the problems people are having cancelling their services.
