An Insurance topic
« on: November 28, 2008, 07:32:47 am »
Maybe put a sticky in a section (up to you) that lets people post details about their insurance companies and deals...

The reason: I've seen so many threads that are started to talk about a particular modification, but then just get plagued by someone asking an insurance premium price related question, then everyone starts posting how much they pay and who they're with = topic useless!

Perfect example: The Revo group buy thread set up by Vtec on gti.co.uk

Obviously we don't want a thread that gives too much personal information away, so maybe users just post the following?

Vehicle in questions w/ modifications insured
NCD
Any points/motoring convictions
Insurance Premium
(Insurance Company) - people may not want to give away this info, in which case, if someone wanted to know they could use the PM system.

So, it might look like:

Vehicle

GTI - Revo Stage 1, Milltek TBE, Carbonio Intake, Forge DV, H&R Springs, 19" BBC CH wheels

Points / Convictions

None

NCD

4

Insurance Premium

£797.64

Insurer

Direct Line

Or simply - to not give as much information away just put the premium paid, linked to the modifications. This should give people enough idea of where a good deal could potentially be done. Again, if anyone wants to know the insurance broker, they can again use the PM system.

That's another good idea, maybe we could put something in the usefully links and contacts section for this  :happy2:

I will have a think and sort something out in the next couple of days.

I think as long as its done in a way so that posters don't think that they are giving away too much 'personal' information then its cool.

Glad you like it Steve!!  :innocent:
