Annoying timing belt rub from cold.....
« on: July 21, 2009, 01:58:43 pm »
Does anyone else have that annoying sound when first turning there Mk5 on. Its like a 'chiishh.......chiishh......chiishh.....chiichh' noise until its warm.

I've hear rumours of it being the timing belt case and could also be the tensioner?

Only thing I've found so far is below:

Any help would be appreciated!

I think its T888om late at night he sneaks up to your car and kisses it but his lips stick to it with the cold.
The noise you here is his lips coming off as it warms.

i get this everytime i start up as well. sounds like its from the left side of the engine, but like you said it goes when its warmed up, so guessing its not a problem, just an imbugerance
