VW Specialist
« on: July 21, 2009, 09:28:29 pm »
Anyone recommend a VW specialist around Hertfordshire/North London area? Need a place to get my car serviced and don't trust the stealers! Also anyone recommend a place to get an MOT done?

Cheers

Cant help with the Vag specialist in your area. But you should get your MOT done at place that only does M.O.T and nothing else. This will avoid a conflict of interest.  :happy2:

The best place that I know of that is remotely near London is Tuningwerkes in Croydon.

Probably no help whatsoever with you, but hope you find a good place.

If your car is modified I can recommend Volkswagen Racing in Milton Keynes - They are officially approved. They don't do MOT's.

I am fully equiped to service the car myself, only problem by doing that is I won't get the log book stamped! Would be a problem IF i do sell it

....That seems a bit unfair but i guess that if a future buyer doesn't already know you or your abilities, they only have a geezer's word for it.

RedRobin - where abouts are they in Milton Keynes. When you say offically approved what do you exactly mean? Do they provide an official VW stamp like a dealer would?

^^^ They are in Blakelands not far from the VW HQ.

They are registered VW service agents so the stamp in the service book is official (as in the same as if it's done by a regular dealership).  :happy2:

Thanks RedRobin, that stamp looks slightly different to the dealership ones doesnt it?

Do you know what a 2nd service is classified as in the link SteveP provided so that I have an idea of the cost. Sorry for hijacking the thread!  :ashamed:

^^ It will be the immediate service @ £200.

All dealers stamps are slightly different. The important part is the dealers "retailer number".
