Hi guys - Noobie with a eddy 30
« on: March 08, 2013, 07:29:36 pm »
I've been after a GTI for little while now and have been looking for the right one to come along.  Seen a few but nothing that ticks all the boxes......it took me 8 months to find this one.  Initally wanted a DSG but sods law - all the decent ones are at the other end of the country.

Had to treck on a train to the border of Wales to find this GTI.  Took me 4 hours to get back, but it was well worth it!  I love this car.  Its packs a punch!  The power delivery is much better than I expected.  This forum seems a great place to get all kinds of advice, so just wanted to say hello!

Cheers Fella!  :happy2:

I used to have an MR2 Mk2 and and joined the mr2oc club when I had it.  This club seems just as friendly and very welcoming so hope to gain some good advice and have a bit of banter on here!

Cheers guys.  It's a manual no. 1613.  Out of interest how many eddys did WV make?  Got the badge - might get it displayed in the passenger door seal right?

It's totally stock.  Got the winter pack.  Those heated seats will come handy if we have some more cold days.  Centre arm rest and cruise control.  No where for me to plug in my iPod though...... Don't fancy changing the head unit but I might have to as I don't see I have much choice and I need my tunes!!

Plaque goes on drivers side door card mate. I've got the exact measurements here if you want them?

You can get a lead from VW for your standard head unit to use your iPod.

Found an iPod dock in the centre arm rest however no sound coming from the speakers.  It recognises the iPod as you can fast forward and rewind but no sound annoyingly.

Took it to VW who said it doesn't recognise new iPods (2008 and newer), so got myself the aux lead.  Got to retro fit now.  Didn't fancy the £113 from VW to fit it.
