RNS 510 v9 Delay
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:46:40 am »
Hi guys.

Im new here and before I represent myself I need your help.

I have Passat CC with RNS 510 and i Have installed V9 maps.

I had V3 before (2008/09 model)

It took my about 4hrs to install it. The main problem is that Once it was done Ive noticed delay or lag. Icon on

map was about 2-3sec after my real position. I couldnt fix it anyhow and so I did factory reset on the rns device.

Now I will try to install it once more time. any Ideas what went wrong or what should I do next time?

Here you go, this explains all  http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,23779.0.html

Basically the firmware does the running of the unit, and the maps are an App that loads on top.

Hi, I was in your position, got my local dealer to look for the info on their computer. (did it for free!)
Get in touch with vw55raz off here, he helped me sort it out.  :happy2:

Try keeping the set up button pressed for 30 seconds to access the hidden menu.
If it doesn't show up then you'll need vcds to adapt channel 50 for your sat nav to enable the function.

It stands device unit but not sure if there is software version.

Whic SW do you recomend I should Install, that works properly with v9 7918 without problems on the sound, batery drain etc???

You can go up to firmware 3810, without any issues on your H/W

1T0 035 680 B from software version 1000, 800,  900, 1100 , 2660 and 2700 to version 3810  :happy2:

Where you based? as someone local may have the firmware on Disc you could borrow
