Look up wheels in motion aka blackboots in chesham. I had my mk2, mk5, supra turbo and S3 all set up there. They will sort it out for you and get the car handling better. Best place around! the do race cars as well as road cars. :happy2:

Oops just read your in Edinburgh not Brackley, sorry buddy.

Rear end needs some work.  They haven't even bothered to adjust it.

Is the rear end within vw spec and could this be the reason the steering is offset to the left?

Hoping someone can help me with this.. Had my wheel geo setup last week all within VW spec. I left the garage which carried out the four wheel geo setup and noticed my steering wheel was offset to the left, for the car to drive straight. If I hold the wheel dead straight the car will veer off to the the right.

Called the garage up the day after and told him about the problem. He told me to give it a 100 miles or so as the tyres may have worn unevenly causing the issue. I gave it almost 200 miles and went back today to have the car checked over again...

The car was setup and showed up on the computer as no faults and everything within VW spec. The tech told me the issue maybe the cars, electric steering wheel angle sensor may need re-calibrated??? Never heard this before, does this sound right???

I've used this garage many times and had no issues before. The cars never been in an accident and aligned up perfect 5-6 times before at the same garage. The machine he uses is a Jim Bean? And it's a proper 4 wheel geo setup...

Can anyone recommend what I should do next?

Went to another VW specialist garage who also do four wheel geo setups. Had the geo redone and everything seems fine now. Steering is straight:)

Big thanks to autohaus in Edinburgh and I'd recommend avoiding CLCM for Aligement in Edinburgh

That's great news - well done.

there's nothing worse steering around a corner to keep the car straight!  SO annoying when the set up is like that!

I hit a pot hole in my old impreza and the steering wheel was unaligned.  I never got it back right again and it really cheesed me off.

I took the GTi into North East Tyres in york to check the alignment and they said to do the rears is a real pain.  Is this true and can anyone recommend a good place in the NE?

Cheers

Glad someone has sorted it correctly for you. Im having an issue with the girlfriends Leon, camber on rear end is -2 12 and has destroyed the tyres. Seat main dealer that did it, say the previous settings are within the tolerance, so im tyring to get somewhere else to set it up correctly and adjust the steering wheel to be central also. Finding it very difficult!
