Wonder how this will stack up against the 500hp tt-rs once its done.

Theres a 500hp TT-RS?

Revo mapped one perhaps lol.

anyone know what turbo the TT-RS uses, and its potential?

Mapped TT-RS goes to just under 400hp, I think 430 would be achievable on stock turbo with exhaust / intake etc.. The turbo is a K24 varient..

And in answer to your question, what do you think a car with 100hp more & weighing a few hundred kilos less would  do to an imaginary 500hp TT-RS?

tt-rs uses a modified version of the turbo as fitted to the latest audi rs6.

Imaginery? MTM tuned TT-RS is real.

All depends. On paper figures dont always tell the full story. 1200kgs is a tough target to meet.

for real??  got any links?

Is it not just a rumour / target that they want to achieve 500bhp? doesn't mean they've actually done it yet.

Besides...it can easily be done if they're changing hardware and not just software.

JC's will still be a lot cheaper and better VFM!  :driver:

So did you ask that question purely in an attempt to say the MTM TT-RS will be faster than mine? If so great, when you sell your Leon and save up for one then your more than welcome to come and try

I dont get why your so funny with me, you were the same on SCN with the Forge Twintake etc..??

Not being funny, im just really intrigued to see how the 2.0tsi and 2.5 tsi compare to each other in modified format.

Me again!

Things are moving forward very quickly now, the downpipe and dump tube fabrication is now complete, both have been wrapped up in high quality exhaust wrap and are installed on the car..

The downpipe had 3 layers of wrap on the bend out of the turbo as this will be the hottest part of the whole exhaust system..

And both on the car.. (dump tube looks nasty!!)

This picture gives a little better view of  the dump tube. You can see its also supported on a small removable tag to the downpipe support bracket, this should prevent the dump tube rattling around and risking damage to the wastegate port on the manifold..

Andy & Andy have managed to work the downpipe around the standard shift cable support bracket, something that I have very keen for them to do as the geometry of the shift cables is very important to keeping the linkage smooth and fast..

Still looking a bit messy as there are things not connected up and it was dark at this point but you get the idea..

The shift cables have also have a layer of the ceramic matting for protection against the heat of the downpipe..

So most of the wiring and ancillary pipe work has been fitted which leaves the lower boost pipe, that needs re fabricating as its no where near what we need, with the 4WD system, it needs to take a completely different route to what the boost pipe would on the GTI.

Once that’s done then its just going to be a case of connecting up the drive shaft and that’s all the under car stuff done!

Seats arrived too! I checked that the base frames were all there, didn’t want the same problem as last time with the ED30! Anyways all looks good and these will be going in tomorrow now, didn’t have a chance today with the car still being on the ramp!

Base frame kit..

One of the seats, went for the same black simulated leather and black dynamica finish!.. Should work well with the interior that I have planned for the car..

Aluminium side mounts.. I removed the big Recaro decal from these so there not quite so in your face.. Funny that on the picture you can still see a ghost, something that your eye doesn’t pick up on at all.. Spoooooky! Ha..

Im considering having them powdercoated in a textured matt black finish but can’t decide..

So that’s about it for now really, painfully close now, we’ll see where it gets to tomorrow!

Yeah thats what im thinking, the interior look will be pretty stealthy.. Planning on having the headrests of the seats re done without the Recaro, and then mostly black with some detailing..

Ill get them done when I do the interior, ill do all that in one go..

500 miles, so about 8 hours driving tomorrow night ha.. Well, thats if its ready..

coming along nicely johny, it has all been done rather quick, make sure you get some video's up once it done, you seriously have to much £££££££  :happy2: , i hope that manifold will withstand all the heat going through it as i have seen a heck of a lot of manifolds cracking, you not thought about getting it ceramic coated like this one on the 1.8t,  im awaiting the next project now, lol

Yep, mentioned it quite a few times.. Once the turbo comes off for the upgrade then the manifold, exhaust housing, downpipe and dump tube will all be going to Zircotec for the ceramic coating..
