Dont know how you can live with lag of a Gt35, I think the 2871R is more than enough lag as it is.

T25 cast manifold to a tubular T3 v-band makes a huge difference to spool times, even with a bigger turbo..

Yes I guess so, but would be interesting to see graphs to compare curves at lower end.

There is always going to be a sacrifice bottom end but if it means I can make 250-300hp more from 5k revs then its going to be worth it if thats what im after..

Does being externally 'gated make for quicker spool?  2nd to having to svae the cash longer spool is the one thing making me have to give real thought into if i should big turbo

External gate and the v-band tial exhaust housing, must less restriction makes for quicker spool and more power up top too..

GT3071R spools up 150rpm later than a K04.. Thats proven on Andys S3.. No matter what anyone says..

Nope, but the difference is amazing! So smooth too..

Turbo is on the way with the clutch and a load of other bits.. All being well the kit should arrive Monday.. Meaning that the car should be running some time next week! Can't wait..

No worries.. I have loved cars for as long as I can remember and for the last 8 years have worked with some of the best engineers / engine builders and chassis designers in the motorsport industry.. And.. Im not afraid to ask questions.

I have a massive interest in everything to do with cars and automotive engineering so its all fun and very much in my interest professionally to know exactly what im talking about when it comes to what makes a car fast..

I dont claim to know everything but im doing my best, and I love learning new things but what I do know I try to apply into my hobby which is modifying my road cars into something that I want them to be.. With the S3 I can finally go the whole hog and do EVERYTHING that I want to do, within reason of course..  :happy2:

The whole 1/4 mile thing is a bit of fun, a bit of friendly competition is all good too.. Its different to what I do and thats why I can enjoy it in a road car.. I have no interest paying to take my own car round a circuit..

i get to do some pretty phenominal stuff that 99% of people never get to do with my job TFSI_Mike would agree also,

but id swap that to work in motorsport any day and am sure mike would as well. Insanely jealous :drool:lol

what area of motorsport are you working in then, theres a pretty varied selection available,  of course you dont have to divulge
