Yeah, im not sure if there will be a chance to dyno it but either way ill know if its quicker or not.. For sure it will be..

Well only really done a couple of interior bits, I have a long list of weight saving things that need to be done, just needs a day to do it really, may attack it next week! There is another 50kg or so to come out pretty easily! That should see it down in the mid to low 1200kg range..

Jebus! I didn't know you were gonna be able to get it so low! That is gonna make a huuuggggeeee difference to power/weight ratio? You sacrificied any creature comforts apart from the rear seats obviously?  :happy2:

Basically the weight saving will consist of the following..

These bits I have already done

Remove Aircon
Remove rear seats / Belts / Points
Remove headlight washers
Remove fog lights
Remove one horn haha.. May as well!
Remove rear bumper bar
Remove boot contents
Lightweight interior panels - removed lots of bits, but looks standard inside
Light weight front seats
Light weight interior, under carpet sound proofing
Light weight front crash bar
Light weight front bumper - 4kg of plastic and bracing!
Light weight battery
Wheels / Suspension / Brakes etc etc etc..

All of that added up to 208kg

The bits that are left to do are things like carbon panels, poly windows, Ti exhaust, lighter wheels.. Etc etc.. Basically, the expensive bits haha!

So yeah, the realistic target is 1175kg and I think with EVERYTHING done I can get to that whilst still retaining a stock looking interior, albeit without rear seats and Recaros in the front..

1250kg and 450whp (550bhp ish?)

Theory stats should put you at...

 3 seconds to 60mph
6.9 seconds to 100mph
1/4 mile in 10.9 seconds
trap speed at 133mph

One fast car that Jonny!!! :surprised:
Golf R gone.

Hope you dont have a rear end shunt Jonny.

That Remove rear bumper bar isnt just there to add weight. Its quite

important for your safety.

Do you use the s3 as your daily still or only for track days?

Only going on 20% transmission loss for 4WD cars. Although Haldex maybe less.

not sure of the exact losses but there is no way its 100bhp with haldex, that would mean the std S3 manages 60 in 5.7 using 165bhp and weighing 1450/1500 kg (not sure exactly) but it doesn't add up

20% of 265bhp isn't 100bhp gaz

it is 53bhp, so you'd be talking 212whp on an S3 with the same equation :happy2:

Ha ha fair enough

why do the transmission losses increase with power increase, is it not a fixed figure as a transmission loss? this is only a question I apolgise for my stupidity

Firstly sorry to Jonny for nicking his thread for a minute :ashamed:

The more power you have the more you will lose in transmitting it to the road.
Here's a pair of links that provide a better explaination than I can.
