Recently just bought a RCD 510 and want to add a lead to connect my iPhone to it. What will I need? Was going to fern it through to the small drawer under headlight switch.

I installed the MDI kit in the glovebox when I got my iPhone

Depends if you want o jut play music through it or if you were wanting to use the Bluetooth option. You can get Bluetooth streaming through a 5k0 kit which is vw integrated Bluetooth for calls etc

Yes you can stream it from your iphone.  No controls or track listing (I think some newer RCD's do display track listing)

If you have the right kit you should see the option under Media. Seems a bit hit and miss as with my RCD I can see the Bluetooth under media but can't seem to get the music to play as greyed out, whilst my friend who has the same RCD type and Bluetooth kit can :)

A MDI Unit won't as it only works with 3rd gen stereos (likes of RCD/rns510s). I believe an iPod dock would though
