New member looking for a MK5 GTI
« on: March 18, 2013, 05:56:03 pm »
Hi - Just wanted to introduce myself.

Having just sold my stage 1 A3 Tdi I am now on the lookout for a MK5 GTI, with up to £7.5k to spend on a decent one (Anyone have one get in touch ;) ) There seems to be quite a few knocking around with decent mileage, FSH, and that all important cambelt done, just miles away from me haha, and have just missed out on one close by that was only up a day.

From the Nottingham Area.

Looking around and researching so far there appears to be a lot of good guides and answers to common problems on here, so Im sure I will spend quite a bit of time sifting through all that information to get my head around all the GTI quirks and things to look out for, keep on top of etc.

Previous cars include CTR, 182, Fiesta ST, numerous mk5 Zetec S', and a BMW and corsa thrown in for good measure, as I tend to change cars quite often, but have always had an itch for a GTI.

Scratch that itch :happy2:

It's a lovely car and has something about it that just feels good. Check the 'for sale' section here for some good ones.

Welcome on board.  :drinking:

If you can find the time to travel it'll be worth it and you more likely to get the car you want with the spec your after. I'm in Sussex and went to Bedford to look at one, Wrexham to look at another and bought one from my local Main Dealer, so you never know.

Happy hunting.

Sounds like you have come full circle then haha. I am prepared to travel, its just finding the time which is the annoyance, and how impatient I get when im without a car haha.
