RCD 510 touch screen

Rather strange question, but during the winter I often drive wearing gloves, due to early/late starts meaning it's very cold - can the touch screen still be operated whilst wearing gloves?!!

Doubtful, unless you have some of those designed for touch screen, like the north face etip or similar.

the touch screen on the RCD / RNS units is resistive (not capacitive) therefore it operates based on touch pressure.. i.e. you can wear boxing gloves and still (attempt) to operate it if you like   its a different sort of screen than what's on modern smartphones.

That's why it isn't as responsive as the Apple kit then.

I have read that new generations of OEM stereos will feature capacitive screens, such as the new Golf, recent peugots, citroens, toyotas et al.
