Turbo decision time.
« on: March 20, 2013, 01:43:06 pm »
Ok the just of it is that my second k04 has went bang and the exhaust side turbine went. . .

I have a few options and am unsure what to do

1. exhange k04 £380+Vat with a 2 year warranty
2. new k04 £850 inc Vat
3. L0400 £1105.05 inc Vat ( economic upgrade, ie reconditioned)

My main concern about the L0400 is the fact im running a bwa engine and am unsure what would happen with the internals etc. Plus i have a Revo map and im not sure if they do maps for the L0400. Am i being stupid wanting this?

I am not sure if i should just buy a new k04 or get the one i have exchanged ?

Any suggestions ? :scared:

1st one was off of a low mileage golf r not sure why that one went bang. The second one was off of a s3 with 80k miles on it but i got it for free. . .

The k03 went as well so technically 3 turbos  :ashamed:

Worth checking oil lines etc also  :happy2:

If your on a BWA then you will have to strengthen your internals to go more than the K04  :sad1:
