VW parts
« on: March 20, 2013, 08:23:28 pm »
I went into my local dealer today to get a bulb for my passenger side indicator repeater on the wing mirror. Nope, I need the whole lens etc coz you can't change the bulb, at a cost of about £30!  Part no 1K0949101 I think.  Next was the coolant temp sensor, part no 06A919501A.  They wanted nearly £40 for that.

Is there anywhere else I can get these parts from?  I want genuine, not copies.  I saw a wee while ago somewhere on here that people have got sensors for less than a tenner but I can't find the thread.  Would these be genuine at that price?  But I haven't seen anywhere for the repeater, the ones of ebay are copies I think.

Thanks

Most places are alright with walk in customers paying cash/card, especially if you let on you do a lot of work to your own VW.

As has been said, TPS are great but you may need an account. There not difficult to get though and very handy to have. :happy2:

Thanks, I think they have places in Aberdeen and Glasgow. I'll try and phone them tomorrow.

How about these black ones for a bit of a mod?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221022241465?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

oh and its a real fiddley job to change them, i bought a 300mm laser tool T8 screw driver of ebay,  to reach inside & do it with only having to remove outer cover.
the casting wall thickness to the screw is too thin on end screw, and my casting fell apart  :surprised: , used a washer under screw head and just about got away with it.

Thanks guys, shame the clear one was ended by the seller but I'm sure there will be more.  Its tempting to go for the smoked ones but after doing the R32 tinting to my rear lights, I still have a third of a tin of spray left to do my repeaters.  But thanks for the tips for removal  :happy2:
