Removing wing mirror covers
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:00:41 pm »
Getting them touched up for free provided I take them off.

How easy is it to take them off? Or would I have to dismantle the whole mirror assembly?

Where do I stick the screwdriver and which way do I apply the force?

Dunno how you got them off then Joe! You must have been very lucky! Did you not snap the clips? Or did you change the indicators at the same time - as the new indicator housings will provide you with new clips.

The mirror covers are held on via two clips that you can only access from going in behind the mirror motor, i.e. taking everything off as per that guide.

How much are pre-painted ones from VW? Might need 'em if I take JoesGTI's advice.
