Is it worth upgrading?
« on: March 24, 2013, 12:06:32 am »
I currently have 17 inch monza's on and I've always liked the look of the 18 inch monza shadows... Is it worth upgrading to 18 inch considering I'm on a budget... so when it comes to getting new tyres i'll die a little :P There's some nice sets in the for sale section ranging £450/480 plus there's the cost of tyres which is I dunno £300ish??

Or the other question buzzing round my mind is should I spend the money I was going to spend on wheels on something else?

Thanks for your input  :happy2:

For looks the 18's are pretty sweet. The 17's are still nice though and aren't diamond cut so are less hassle.

Decent tyres fitted are going to cost £450 or so.

You won't see any performance benefit for the money obviously...for the price of wheels & tyres you could get a tbe for example.

Having had both I much prefer the drive on 17" Monzas , the 18s look superb but on our third world road network im getting sick of the bangs and crashes that transmit themselves through the car because of them.

Sell your own wheels on which will make them cheaper

It's the same up here, there's tons of pot holes, would have to drive like a nun if I upgraded  :driver:

Thought of that which isn't a bad idea really  :happy2:

Since the tbe was mentioned I might lean towards that... though I don't have that much money for a milltek  :sad1: What's the other alternatives?

Cheers

You might pick up a 2nd hand exhaust in the classifieds if you're patient.
