help with MFD2
« on: June 30, 2013, 02:41:11 am »
Hey guys

Really need some advice. I have an MFD2 headunit and yea ive heard their old and needs to be updated but i dont have much spare cash yet. So im wanting to connect my ipod onto the MFD2. Would i be better of getting an aux attached to it or an ipod cable as i heard with an aux connection i will not be able to change tracks on the head unit? :S
If i should get an ipod connection which one should i be looking for i.e what make or can i get an original?

thanks

I don't have any experience of the MFD2 but from a little research I think this unit has the same limited iPod capabilities as the other head units of that generation i.e. the original VW iPod dock just emulates a CD changer so although you can change track you don't get any track info on the head unit. This might influence your decision on whether it is worth the expense of fitting an original VW iPod dock.
